The new 2,000 square foot office at the Santa Clarita Processing and Distribution Center on Franklin Parkway will open on Saturday and offer extended hours Tuesday through Saturday.
With additional staffing, the office will offer full range of services, including passport applications, ID photos, photocopy services and expedited processing. Some of these services require an additional fee.
No appointment is required, and walk-in hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Last year, the U.S. Department of State issued 13.5 million passports and passport cards.
The Postal Service recommends that new passport applicants start the process several months before a planned trip to allow for processing.
