Los Angeles County Fire Department officials are reporting that a Castaic brush fire has been knocked down at 2:05 p.m. Thursday.

A Castaic brush fire was reported at the 29000 block of North Quincy Street, near a dead-end road, near West Stageline Road, according to Fire officials. 

The initial call went out at 1:06 p.m. Units arrived on the scene at 1:15 p.m., according to Fire Department officials.

There are homes in the area, but no structures were threatened, and no injuries were reported.

Live Oak Elementary was on lock down due to the proximity of the fire, Castaic Union School District officials said. The call was made around 1:30 p.m.

It was lifted shortly after “knock-down” was declared on the fire.

The move is called precautionary, and the children are not in danger, district officials said.

The incident was given a “First Alarm Assignment,” with crews on the ground and in the air, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. 

More than 12 units responded,  and there were additional air units on the scene.

The fire was moving westbound with 5 mph winds, according to county Fire.

No evacuations were ordered.
