The attack took place at the 29800 block of Abelia Road around 10:30 p.m., according to a witness.

“An assault did occur (in Canyon Country),” said Lt. Steve Low, adding that deputies from the Detectives’ Bureau were not releasing any addtional information because they did not want to jeopardize the investigation.

“Detectives are in the middle of an active investigation regarding an assault,” he said.

A witness who called into KHTS anonymously reported that two individuals appeared to be fighting before the suspects drove away.
