Deputies are looking for a white, 28-year-old man, said Deputy Mark Wood of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The suspect is believed to have a black semiautomatic pistol, Wood said.

The shooting, which took place in Canyon Country, has deputies searching for the suspect.

“It’s an active crime scene right now,” Wood said, “near Sierra Highway and Soledad Canyon Road. People should stay away.”

No deputies were wounded in the shooting, Wood said.

No further details, including what prompted the incident, were available at this time. No suspects are in custody yet.

Anyone with information about the incident should call the Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121.
