Raymundo Soto, 35, was found not guilty on two felony counts of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon for an alleged stabbing incident in February 2012.

The jury also found Soto guilty of two misdemeanor weapons charges: carrying a concealed firearm and carrying a concealed firearm within city limits.

The judge sentenced Soto to one year in Los Angeles County jail minus his time served. He previously served one year and was released as a result.

Daniel Muir, returned to his Canyon Country home during the early evening of February 29, after a year’s absence, to find that his wife, Jessica Jackson, 30, was now living in the home with Soto, according to Sheriff’s Department officials.

Soto was accused of attacking Muir with a knife while Muir was gathering his belongings.

Muir suffered eight stab wounds but managed to escape and run to a neighbor’s home for help.

Soto was also injured during the altercation and received self-inflicted stab wounds, according to officials. Both men were transported by ambulance to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital.

Soto was taken into custody last April and found in possession of a firearm, which lead to additional misdemeanor charges of carrying a concealed firearm and carrying a concealed firearm within city limits.

Jackson was arrested on the same day as Soto, but the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office did not file charges.

Soto, who had been confined to a wheelchair, was ordered to appear in a special wheelchair-accessible courtroom in downtown Los Angeles last June, where he pleaded not guilty to all charges.

In January of this year, he refused to leave his jail cell for a court appearance after he was deemed capable of attending court without the assistance of a wheelchair.
