Canyon Country Community Center Hosts Inaugural ‘Friday Night Lights’

Youth across the Santa Clarita Valley participated in a new interactive junior high teen program called “Friday Night Lights,” on Friday, Feb. 1, at 7 p.m. at the Canyon Country Community Center on Flying Tiger Drive.Hosted at various parks and facilities on the first Friday of the month, the new program will provide junior high age teens with a variety of free recreational opportunities, including games on the new interactive “Sportswall” game board, web-cam world tours, funny photo booths with props and costumes, prizes and music.

“The City is constantly looking at ways to increase and improve the quality and quantity of community services for our residents,” said Mayor Bob Kellar. “The new Friday Night Lights program was created to provide junior high teens with resources and a meeting place to interact with friends in a fun and safe environment.”   

To participate in the Friday Night Lights program, teens must pre-register, complete a waiver form and bring a valid school identification card. Space is limited and spots can be reserved by calling (661) 286-4006.
