She was inspired to pursue radio after being invited as a guest on other local talk shows.
“I thought that if I started my own show, it would give me a chancce to dive deep into the subjects that I find interesting myself,” Hassenpflug said.
For the inaugural show on April 8, Hassenpflug invited KHTS co-owner Jeri Seratti-Goldman, Janice Murray who hosts the “Non-Profit Spotlight” show and Shannon Levy-Heath, a dance professor at College of the Canyons.
Each guest shared how they believed Pilates or yoga had helped them transform their lives.
Going forward, Hassenpflug said that she already has enough topic ideas to carry her show through the next two years.
She wants to explore nutrition and how it affects health, interview inspiring authors and eventually incorporate meditation or breathing exercises into her show.
While “Vibrant Living” might touch on some of the same topics as other local health and wellness talk shows, Hassenpflug said that she has a unique perspective, focusing on how yoga influences everday life.
