The Valley Industry Association has named Anna Frutos-Sanchez, a public affairs manager for Southern California Edison, as their 2015 Board of Directors chair.

Anna Frutos-Sanchez, the local public affairs region manager for Southern California Edison, has been named the 2015 chair of the Valley Industry Association Board of Directors.

In December, Frutos-Sanchez will succeed current Chairman Chris Chapleau of American Business Machines.

The VIA has been a legislative advocate and networking organization for industrial, commercial and service companies in the Santa Clarita Valley for more than 30 years.

“We’re having a great year, and I’m looking forward to carrying that momentum into 2015,” said Frutos-Sanchez in a VIA press release. “VIA is an excellent organization that significantly benefits our local business community and promotes the economic betterment of our valley. Serving as VIA’s Chair will be an honor.”

Frutos-Sanchez has worked with SCE for more than 27 years. Her region serves the Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding communities, and she routinely interacts with local government and community representatives on behalf of SCE.

She is also a prominent community volunteer, having served on the boards of nonprofit organizations like the Boys and Girls Club of SCV Foundation, the College of the Canyons Foundation, the SCV Chamber of Commerce and the SCV Latino Chamber of Commerce.

“Anna is a terrific choice to follow Chris, and build upon VIA’s successes in 2014,” said Kathy Norris, VIA CEO and president in the press release. “She’s the face of Southern California Edison in our community, and we’re thrilled that she has agreed to also lead the Valley Industry Association in the coming year.”

Frutos-Sanchez lives in Santa Clarita with her husband Robert. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and mentoring students seeking higher education and careers with SCE, according to the release.

“I care deeply about this community, and serving as VIA Chair will enable me to contribute to its ongoing success,” she said. “As we witnessed in VIA’s recent B2B Industry Show, our business community is innovating and taking steps to thrive in the years to come. I’m excited to be part of that.”
