Conserving Water With Soil Retention Products, Inc.

Category:

Soil Retention Products, Inc. offers green and cost-effective solutions for expensive retaining walls and pavements, a perfect addition for Santa Clarita yards.

Soil Retention founder Jan Jansson moved from Sweden to the United States in 1987. He opened a franchise in Riverside County with the goal of manufacturing and distributing plantable retaining wall blocks. He noticed the need for a more durable, versatile, better plantable retaining wall block.

Jansson and his developmental team at Soil Retention Products, Inc.  have created three products: Verdura®, Drivable Grass®, and Enviroflex®. These products are sold worldwide and shipped from California.

Verdura® (“ver” meaning green, “dura” meaning durable) is a fully plantable retaining wall block system that can be used from small gardens to large commercial structures. No project is too big or too small. Verdura® is the strongest Mechanically Stabilized Earth (soil constructed with artificial reinforcing) retaining wall.

“Our Verdura® blocks come in several different sizes to accommodate the needs of the homeowner up to the large contractor and developer.

Verdura® walls offer a fully plantable face that provides an opportunity to soften the visual impact of a retaining wall while gaining valuable land,” said Soil Retention executive Julia Schmid.

Verdura® blocks range from $4.50 to $6.50 per square foot.

Drivable Grass® is a permeable, flexible, and plantable concrete pavement system for fire lanes, access roads, driveways, parking lots, bioswales, ditches, and more. Using this product instead of regular concrete or cement products enhances your curb appeal, adding more value to your beautiful Santa Clarita home. It is durable, with low water absorption and 5,000 psi—limiting wear and cracking. Drivable Grass® is a green product, providing bio-filtration and permeability, as well as reducing the Heat Island Effect.

“Our Drivable Grass® system is the only flexible concrete pavement system on the market. Its distinctive thin profile allows for a homogenous root zone below the product which promotes healthy turf,” added Schmid.

Drivable Grass® retails for about $2.50 to $3.50 per square foot.

Enviroflex® is a tapered, vertically interlocking articulating concrete block (ACB) revetment system for channels, culvert outlets, and wetland traffic crossings. This product was designed for erosion control use in riverine, channel, or other areas with high velocity flows. Enviroflex® is manufactured from fiber reinforced concrete for added tensile strength. It provides permeability, plantability, and bio-filtration for eco-friendliness.

Enviroflex® is cost-effective, requires no maintenance, is made of the highest-quality materials, and has easy installation—no cables or cranes required! Install it professionally.
