Los Angeles County fire fighters made quick work of a brush fire that broke out Tuesday afternoon in the vicinity of Whites Canyon Road and Via Princessa in Canyon Country.

The fire was reported at about 3:10 p.m. just west of the Via Princessa Metrolink Station.

Deputies went door-to-door to evacuate a few homes on Bruces Place off of Madigan Drive where the fire threatened backyards but were called off when it appeared the Fire Department had a handle on the blaze. It was held to about 1 acre.
