Brush Fire Reported Near Lake Hughes Road Contained Quickly

Firefighters made quick work of a brush fire that was reported north of Lake Hughes Road and east of the Interstate 5 freeway at 9:56 a.m. on Friday.

The fire was contained at 10:17 a.m. and estimated size was 3 acres, according to Los Angeles County Fire officials.

A spokesman for L.A. County Fire said that the person calling in described it as “grass on fire.”

The fire was reported moving uphill as of 10 a.m. and a second alarm response was dispatched at 10:06 a.m. because there were homes in the area.

No structures were threatened, according to Fire officials.
