The Gorman brush fire was reported 100 percent contained at 2:26 p.m., Monday afternoon. Units are being released and others are assisting with the cleanup.
A line of containment was being created around a Gorman brush fire, a fire official said Monday afternoon.
“We have a line around this fire, so we released a few of our dozer units, and that should indicate that we have the upper hand on the fire,” said an an L.A. County Fire Department official who spoke anonmyously because he was not authorized to go on the record.

The helicpoters are still doing an assessment (of the containment percentage) at this time,” he said.
Winds have died down, which is helping firefighters to keep containment at 20 acres, he added.
A brush fire was reported north of Gorman Post Road near the northbound I-5 at 12:41 p.m., Monday.
Units from Los Padres National Forest Service, Angeles National Forest Service, Kern County Fire Department, Ventura County Fire Department and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to reports of a seven- to 10-acre fire.
L.A. County Fire officials recently have called for a second-alarm, so units are still responding, and the fire is not yet a reported percentage of containment.
Nearly 200 units are on the scene, according to officials.
There are no structures threatened, reported injuries or road closures at this time.
Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies are on scene to assist the Los Angeles County Fire Department in its response, said Sheriff’s Station Lt. Mark Hershey.
“We have two cars responding to help the firefighters,” Hershey said. “We just kind of do a status thing when we get there. We start evacuations — we don’t really put out fires.”
The cause of the fire is not known at this time, but it will be investigated by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
