By noon Wednesday, firefighters contained a brush fire that reached near the Angeles National Forest,  according to a fire official.

"There's an engine there now that looks like it's going to be there for a couple of hours," the Fire official said around 4 p.m. "It looks like it's definitely in the mop-up phases."

The fire burned about four acres. No structures were threatened and no injuries reported.

ORIGINAL STORY
Los Angeles County Fire Department officials are battling a brush fire on the northbound side of Highway 14, north of Soledad Canyon Road, said fire inspector Quovondo Johnson.

"We have about two acres of light grass burning," Johnson said. "We have light winds out there, about 7-8 miles per hour."

The fire is currently at roughly two to three acres, he said.

Officials do not yet have a percentage of containment.

Johnson said county Fire officials are working in conjunction with the Forest Service because the fire is near the Angeles National Forest.

"Right now, we have a first alarm going," he added. "Units are still arriving on the scene."
