BREAKING NEWS: Deputies' Pursuit Ends With Suspect Arrested In Saugus
UPDATED 10:02 PM: A carjacking suspect has been apprehended in a Saugus neighborhood following a police pursuit Monday night.
UPDATED 9:31PM: As seen on KCAL-TV, a police pursuit ended around 9pm in Saugus. Sheriff officials pursued a suspect from Palmdale down Bouquet Canyon Road and deployed spike strips in Saugus to disable the suspect's vehicle. The suspect exited his vehicle and ran on foot through a few Saugus backyards before giving up and surrendering to sheriffs.
Sheriffs from the city of Lancaster are reporting that the incident began as a carjacking at around 5:30pm Monday near the intersection of 50th Street West and Avenue L-8 in Quartz Hill. The vehicle was then spotted by sheriffs in Leona Valley, and the pursuit was on.
