“Los Angeles Fire Department personnel stayed on scene Friday night after the fire had been contained to keep an eye on any hot spots.” said Melanie Flores, supervising dispatcher for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“No structures burned and no injuries were reported,” she said. “Angeles National Forest officials reported the fire burned approximately 60 acres.“

The fire was first reported at 5:17 p.m. and at 6:55 p.m. it was about 76 degrees in the area with 6 mph winds, according to Ryan Carey of the U.S. Forest Service.

The fire broke out at San Francisquito Canyon Road, near Bee Canyon Road, which is how it got its name, Carey said.

The fire may have originated near 35702 San Francisquito Road, near Powerhouse No. 2.
