For one night only, veteran comedienne Cathy Ladman, will be joined on stage by popular comedy all-stars Ahmed Ahmed, star of TBS’s “Sullivan and Son,” and Bryan Callen from MADTV.
This comedy special (along with a pre-show VIP meet & greet event,) will be held at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons on Sept. 23.
Annabelle Gurwitch, NY Times Best Selling author of “I See You Made an Effort” will be the master of ceremonies.

“Anything you need.” Bryan Callen said, echoing Ahmed Ahmed. “This has been such a fun event to plan. Who doesn’t love to laugh?”
For one night, incredibly talented comedians descend on Santa Clarita to raise awareness, raise money and make people laugh, all to benefit the SCV Youth Project.
“In tough economic times, we need all the help we can get in order to continue to provide free services to teens; this event allows us to do good work, all the time.”said Kim Goldman, founder of the SCV Youth Project.
Ahmed Ahmed
Ahmed Ahmed, born in Helwan, Egypt and raised in Riverside, California Ahmed immigrated to the US when he was one month old with his family.
When he was 19 years old, he made the move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the entertainment industry, and attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. His first big break was in the suspense, action film Executive Decision alongside Kurt Russell, Steven Seagal and Halle Berry in 1996.
Ahmed went on to appear in a handful of blockbuster and cult hit features including “Swingers,” “Iron Man” and “You Don’t Mess With The Zohan.” On the television front, he can be seen starring as “Ahmed” on TBS’ hit comedy series “Sullivan & Son.”
Executive Produced by Vince Vaughn. Ahmed has appeared on top series such as “Tracey Takes On,” “Weeds,” and “Roseanne,” to name a few.
Bryan Callen
Bryan Callen, has spent the last 17 years in Los Angeles fighting traffic because that’s where he seems to find the most work. Callen got his start as an original cast member of MADTV.
He then went on to play numerous roles on the small and big screen including, “Old School,” “Bad Santa,” “Sex and the City,” “Entourage,” “Californication,” “7th Heaven,” “King of Queens,” “Stacked,” “Las Vegas,” “West Wing,” “News Radio,” “Significant Others, “CSI,” “NYPD Blue,” “Suddenly Susan” and “Frasier.”
He recently finished a two season character arc on USA’s “In Plain Sight.” He can currently be seen on SHOWTIME performing a stand up comedy special called MAN CLASS and he’s got a really big role in the feature film Ride Along.
Cathy Ladman
Cathy Ladman is one of the country’s top comedians. Ladman’s show is a self-probing vehicle which draws laughter from exposing personal neuroses.
She has not only appeared on “The Tonight Show” nine times, but was also the only female comic to appear on the last two of Johnny Carson’s “Tonight Show Anniversary” shows. She’s made four appearances on “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” did her own HBO “One Night Stand” comedy special and was awarded the American Comedy Award for Best Female Stand Up Comic.
Her film credits include “Charlie Wilson’s War,” “The Aristocrats,” and “White Oleander.” Her TV appearances include “Mad Men,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” and “Everybody Loves Raymond.” She’s done several TV pilots, including “Caroline in the City,” in which she had a recurring role.
She also appeared regularly on ABC’s “Politically Incorrect” and Comedy Central’s “Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist.”
Besides writing her standup act and original scripted projects, Ladman was on the writing staffs of “The Caroline Rhea Show”, “Caroline in the City” and “Roseanne.”
Her theatre credits include a successful run Off-Broadway in, “The JAP Show: The Princesses of Comedy,” the 25th Anniversary production of “Last Summer at Bluefish Cove” in Los Angeles, which was nominated for several GLAAD awards, and she and HBO developed her first solo show, “Scaredypants,” and took it to the Aspen Comedy Festival.
Her second solo show, “Does This Show Make Me Look Fat?,” will be opening in spring of 2014.
Annabelle Gurwitch
Annabelle Gurwitch, actress, activist and New York Times Bestselling author of “I See You Made An Effort.”
Gurwitch gained a loyal comedic following during her numerous years co-hosting the cult favorite, “Dinner & a Movie” on TBS and in her years as a regular commentator on NPR.
Her book, “You Say Tomato, I Say Shut Up”, a self-hurt marital memoir, co-written with her Emmy Award winning husband, Jeff Kahn, is now a theatrical play in its third national tour.
Gurwitch’s essays and satire have appeared in Harper’s Bazaar, More, Marie Claire, Men’s Health, The Los Angeles Times, L.A. Magazine, The Nation.com, Huffington Post and in three humor anthologies.
As an actress, she’s guest starred in over fifty TV series, including: “Dexter”, “Boston Legal”, “Medium” and “Seinfeld”.
Most recently, she spent three seasons hosting the sustainability series “WA$TED” on Discovery Channel’s Planet Green Network.
Besides her years co-hosting “Dinner and a Movie”, she has headlined programs on Sci-Fi, ABC, The Style Channel, and was the news anchor of the award winning, satirical, “Not Necessarily the News” on
HBO.
Gurwitch’s many television appearances include: “Real Time with Bill Maher,” “CBS This Morning,” “Queen Latifah Show,” “The Today Show,” “Joy Behar Show,” “Fox and Friends,” “Showbiz Tonight,” “Entertainment Tonight,” “CNN,” and “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”
Her live appearances include: The Moth Mainstage, The New York Comedy Festival, The Carter Center and The 92ndSt Y.

Goldman, the sister of murder victim Ron Goldman from the infamous OJ Simpson trial, is a nationally recognized victim advocate and has been running the Youth Project since 2005.
The Santa Clarita Valley Youth Project is celebrating 14 years of successfully providing free services to teens in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Since their doors opened in 2000, the Youth Project has assisted more than 34,000 local families, including 29,000 youth and 5,500 adults.
In 2012/2013, with services on six high schools and seven junior high campuses, the SCV Youth Project provided more than 8000 hours of service to the young adults in the Santa Clarita Valley with serious life challenges, including depression, suicide, grief/loss, peer pressure, bullying and drug/alcohol abuse, said Kim Goldman, executive director.
“The generosity of the comics is amazing. We are so fortunate to have such a worthwhile cause, that so many people want to support. We love telling our story, and letting others see the good work we do in the Santa Clarita Valley.” Board President, Renee’ Kaehny stated.
