Six Flags Magic Mountain officials held a 2014 Fright Fest “Black Carpet” Preview Thursday night, dishing out exclusive information and sneak peeks about the upcoming event.

“Six Flags Magic Mountain is only place in Southern California where you can ride during the day and stay for the fright at night,” said Director of Park Operations Neal Thurman.
A panel discussion included Thurman, Entertainment Manager Scott Sterner, Production Design and Entertainment Coordinator Mark Wing and Tony Brauner designer of the maze Red’s Revenge.
Audience members could ask the professionals questions about the upcoming Fright Fest including things such as what kind of blood they used.
VIP guests of the event were able to walk through Vault 666, a maze that is a “genetics lab gone wrong” where the faculty turns out to have human mutants to scare the maze-goers.
“We want to immerse you in the attraction,” Wing said. “You’ll be one with the attraction but it’ll still scare you.”
More than 40 cast members work at the Vault 666 maze.

Other mazes planned for the event included Willoughby’s Resurrected, Chupacabra, Aftermath, Total Darkness and the new Red’s Revenge.
While there are many new entertainment experiences including more crafts for kids, a Voodoo Night live music dance party and Toyz Terror in 3D, the popular attraction, backwards running Colossus will not be available this year.

Six Flags Magic Mountain is expected to host their 2014 Fright Fest beginning Saturday, Sept. 27 through Saturday. Nov. 1.
