This summer the Canyon Theatre Guild is celebrating silent films and the advent of “talkies” with there version of the classic musical “Singin’ in the Rain.”
The Canyon Theatre Guild is only a few performances into their production of “Singin’ in the Rain,” and the classic musical will run through June 28.

Based on the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film directed by Gene Kelly, “Singin’ in the Rain” tells the story of fictional film studio Monumental Pictures and the advent of “talkies.”
Lina Lamont and Don Lockwood, the silent stars of Monumental Pictures must learn how to act with sound. And Lamont faces romantic disappointment when Lockwood falls for Kathy Seldon, the young actress brought in to dub over Lamont’s less than attractive voice.
Starring in CTG’s production is Renee Laramore as Lina Lamont, Amy Grace Semelsberger as Kathy Seldon, Tim Collins as Don Lockwood and Jared Pixler as Lockwood’s best friend Cosmo Brown.
“Singin’ in the Rain” features all the movies classic numbers, including “All I Do Is Dream of You,” “Moses Supposes,” “Make ‘Em Laugh” and the title song–complete with an onstage rainstorm.
Tickets cost between $17 and $19, depending on the seat, and discounts are available for juniors and seniors.
Performances run on Friday and Saturday evenings and Saturday and Sunday matinees through June 28.
