The wall is located at the corner of Railroad Avenue and 9th Street in Old Town Newhall and was put in place to inspire City of Santa Clarita community members to find a creative and artistic outlook, according to The ARTree Community Arts Center website.

The mural features images of local children taken by teenage artists in Santa Clarita.

The ARTree volunteers wanted to take the original 2011 mural and advance on it to make a more creative mural this year, according to Bob Hernandez, The ARTree President.

“The main purpose behind this mural is we want to make a statement about the arts,” Hernandez said. “We want people in Santa Clarita to be aware that children desperately need the arts, both performing and visual.”
