The two exhibits are the first exhibits to be simultaneously featured at City Hall and showcases art pieces from artists ages 16 to 66, according to Jeff Barber, City of Santa Clarita’s Arts and Events supervisor.

“Santa Clarita residents have the chance to meet many of the artists whose work is featured in the exhibit,” said Barber

“Residents also have the chance to meet others in the community that love and have a passion for art,” according to his statement.

The Santa Clarita Valley Photographers Association (SCVPA) Spring Print Competition took place on May 4 at William S. Hart Hall.  The annual competition features member’s artwork and winners in a variety of categories and those that received a merit are featured in the First Floor Gallery at City Hall.

Congressman Howard P. “Buck” McKeon invited high school aged students in the 25th Congressional District to participate in the 2013 Competition.  Sponsored by the U.S. House of Representatives, each congressional district across the nation hosted a district-wide art competition to encourage student participation in the arts, and chose a winning piece of artwork to hang in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol.  The works featured in this exhibit represent the finalists for the competition in the 25th district.

The art reception is expected to provide complimentary light refreshments and entertainment.

City Hall is located at 23920 Valencia Boulevard, Santa Clarita, CA 91355
