The West Ranch boys volleyball team swept Alemany in three games and won its fourth match of the season.
Tanner Skabelund had 14 kills and Clay Burns had eight for West Ranch. Ben Davis had 18 digs, six aces and anchored the West Ranch defense.
The Wildcats are 4-5 and have one more match before Foothill League play begins next week. West Ranch plays Camarillo on Tuesday and then takes on Hart on Thursday night.
The Hart golf team lost a match against Oaks Christian by one stroke at River Ridge Golf Course in Oxnard.
Nick Negrosa and Kyle Del Valle each shot 11-over 83s to lead Hart.
The Valencia boys golf team beat Golden Valley by four strokes in a match at Valencia Country Club. Clayton Pilley had a hole-in-one on the seventh hole, a 170-yard, par-3. He shot the low round of the day for Valencia, a 7-over 79.
The Saugus softball team swept a doubleheader against Granada Hills. Mariah Lopez pitched a no-hitter in the first game and won, 15-0. She had five strikeouts. Saugus won the second game, 10-2.
Maddy Jelenicki hit two home runs and drove in four runs in the first game. She added four more RBIs in the second game.
In spring training, the Dodgers lost to the Chicago Cubs, 8-1. Dodgers starter Chris Capuano was roughed up for five runs on six hits in 4 1/3 innings.
In the NHL, the Kings lost to the San Jose Sharks, 4-3. It was the second loss in a row for the Kings.
Dustin Brown scored two goals, his 10th and 11th of the season. But the Kings lost consecutive games for the first time in more than a month.
Meanwhile, the Sharks snapped a four-game losing streak.
The Kings play the Sharks again on Saturday night at Staples Center.
