Valencia High Graduate Max Homa Shoots 78 In US Amateur Golf Championship
Valencia High graduate Max Homa shot an 8-over 78 in the first round of the US Amateur golf championship in Massachusetts.
His chances of advancing to the match play portion of the tournament are not good.

He is tied for 224th place with one round of stroke play left at The Country Club in Brookline. The top 64 players in the field of 312 move on to compete in match play.
He tees off at 10:05 this morning on the Charles River Country Club Course.
In football, Troy Nolan, who played at College of the Canyons, is back with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Nolan, a four-year veteran cornerback in the NFL, was released by the Buccaneers last week.
But the Bucs re-signed him less than a week after placing him on waivers.
He was drafted by the Houston Texans in 2009 and played for the Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins.
In baseball, the Dodgers beat the visiting New York Mets, 4-2. The Dodgers scored three runs in the sixth inning and Nick Punto hit a solo home run in the seventh.
They have a six-game winning streak and are 38-8 since June 22.
