Valencia, Hart Football Teams Ready For Rematch

The Valencia and Hart football teams are making their last-minute preparations for Friday night’s CIF Southern Section Northern Division championship game.

The game, brought to you by Action Family Counseling, will be broadcast live on AM 1220, KHTS.

The two teams will be meeting for the third time in the CIF title game. Hart has won the previous two games, but the last time was in 2001.

Valencia beat Hart, 24-19, in November. The Vikings also beat Hart last year during Foothill League play.

Hart running back Connor Wingenroth has put up record-breaking numbers in the playoffs. He has 719 rushing yards in three playoff games.

Valencia’s Jay Jay Wilson will have to sit out of the championship game after being ejected in the semifinals against Saugus.

Master’s College Sports

In college volleyball, The Master’s College women beat Madonna University, 3-1, on the second day of pool play in the NAIA national tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.

The Lady Mustangs handed Madonna University its first loss of the season. The Master’s College, ranked No. 16 in the NAIA, is 2-0 in pool play and in control of advancing to the elimination round of the tournament on Friday.

The Lady Mustangs play Rocky Mountain College today on the third day of pool play in the tournament.

Santa Clarita High School Sports

In high school tennis, the Valencia doubles team of Tina Inchalik and Remy Balmain lost in the round of 16 in the CIF girls individual playoffs.

The Valencia pair lost to Devon Jack and Madeline Gundawidjaja from San Marino, 6-4, 6-1.

Los Angeles Sports Report

In the NBA, the Clippers lost to the Atlanta Hawks, 107-97, in their first game of a seven-game road trip. The Clippers have lost two games in a row.

Next up for the Clippers are the Memphis Grizzlies tonight.
