Renovations to the City of Santa Clarita’s Sports Complex Gymnasium will be completed in mid-January.
Evan Thomason, with the city of Santa Clarita’s city briefs, spoke with Rich Carr, recreation supervisor, in a video about the first renovation to take place since the gym’s opening 15 years ago.

“It’s really the overall look and appearance of the facility, we have new pads, new paint, new scoreboards,” Carr said. “With this new floor we’ve actually been able to expand out to a high school regulation floor so we can actually have two high school regulation basketball games in the same facility.”
The new Mondo rubber flooring is versatile and will be easier to maintain than a wood floor, will allow for more traction and be easier on your joints.

The facility offers youth and adult sports program and is the only city facility to offer racquetball.
Dates and times for anyone interested in open play are available on the gym’s website and calendar.
Memberships are free and entrance fees to those going for open play is $2 for children/seniors and $3 for adults.
