Abbey Weitzel, swimming for the Canyons Aquatics Club, won three races in the California-Nevada Summer Sectionals at the Santa Clarita Aquatics Center.
Weitzel, who also swims for Saugus High, won the 50, 100 and 200 meter freestyle events at the meet. She won the 50 in 25.58 seconds, the 100 in 55.37 seconds and the 200 in 2 minutes, 4.24 seconds.

In high school basketball, the Valencia girls reached the championship game of the Desert Heat Classic in Palm Desert and lost to Ventura, 23-13.
The Lady Vikings have played in four tournament championship games this summer. The girls won the College of the Canyons tournament over Canyon last week.
They lost to Sierra Canyon in the Saugus tournament and lost to La Jolla Country Day in the Burroughs tournament.
In auto racing, Rich DeLong of Santa Clarita won the Street Stocks race at Kern County Raceway in Bakersfield.
It was the Street Stocks debut race at Kern County Raceway.
In baseball, the Dodgers pounded the Toronto Blue Jays, 14-5, and won their fourth game in a row.
Dodgers catcher AJ Ellis had a big game. He hit a two-run home run and drove in five runs. Skip Schumaker added to the power surge with a three-run home run in the seventh inning.
The Dodgers moved in to first place in the National League West standings, a half-game ahead of the Arizona Diamondbacks, who lost, 4-2, to the Chicago Cubs.
The Dodgers continue their series against the Blue Jays tonight.
