Hart Meets Canyon In Foothill League Football Finale

The Hart and Canyon football teams meet tonight in a crucial Foothill League finale match-up.

Both teams have 3-1 records in the Foothill League. Both teams are tied for second place in the league standings. Both teams trail Valencia by one game in the standings.

Hart is coming off its first loss of the season to Valencia last week. Canyon has won four of its past five games.  More importantly, Canyon is a perfect 3-0 at home this season.

The game is at Canyon High School. Kickoff is at 7:30.

The Valencia football team can wrap up its fifth Foothill League championship in a row against Golden Valley tonight. The Vikings have a four-game winning streak and are 4-0 against the Foothill League.

Golden Valley is 0-4 in the Foothill League and has never won a league game.

The Saugus and West Ranch football teams meet in a Foothill League finale with potential playoff implications.

West Ranch is 5-4 and needs a win to keep its at-large playoff hopes alive. Saugus is 4-5 and needs a win to reach the .500 mark.

Tune in to AM 1220, KHTS, to keep up with all the football action tonight. The pregame show starts at 6:30.

In high school tennis, the Hart girls won their first-round match, 14-4, over Chadwick in the CIF Southern Section Division 2 playoffs.

The doubles team of Lauren Dam and Bailey Sindle swept their sets. The Indians continued their undefeated season and improved to 18-0.

Hart plays Villa Park in the second round today.

The Valencia girls won their first-round match, 13-5, against Pasadena Poly in the Southern Section Division 2 playoffs.

Tina Inchalik, the Vikings No. 1 singles player, swept her sets, 6-4, 6-2, 6-1.

Valencia plays Canyon of Anaheim in the second round today.

The West Ranch girls tennis team lost in the first round, 12-6, to Beverly Hills.

In high school golf, Golden Valley’s Elisa Pierre shot a 73 in the CIF Southern Section girls individual championship at the Talega Golf Club in San Clemente.

She finished seven shots behind Brittany Farrell of Mission Viejo, the winner of the Southern Section individual championship.

In the NBA, the Clippers lost to the Miami Heat, 102-97.

The Lakers sneak out of Houston with a 99-98 win over the Rockets.

In the NHL, the Kings shut out the visiting Buffalo Sabres, 2-0. Next up for the Kings are the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday night.
