Ricky's Robbery Suspect Behind Bars
Deputy spots suspect vehicle day after robbery.
A Canyon Country resident suspected of robbing a liquor store Wednesday morning was arrested without incident Thursday afternoon on Jake’s Way.
Jaime Gonzalez, 35, was caught on surveillance tape at Ricky’s Liquor on Soledad Canyon Road, using a handgun to rob the liquor store clerk.
Gonzalez got away with an unspecified amount of cash and deputies broadcast a description of both the suspect and the vehicle he was driving.
On Thursday, a deputy patrolling the Jake’s Way area saw a vehicle matching the description broadcast parked on the street and called for assistance.
When Gonzalez returned to his vehicle, several deputies and detectives took him into custody. A subsequent search warrant was served on a residence connected to the suspect in the 18400 block of Jake’s Way.
Gonzalez was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on suspicion of felony robbery. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail and is schedule to go to court on Monday.
