Residents Put Their Bikes To Good Use
“Hit the Trail” bicycle rally gets a good turnout.
They came from all corners of Santa Clarita, on mountain bikes, ten speeds, training wheels and three wheelers.
SCV residents took the chance to hit the trail as part of a City sponsored bike rally that was held at BridgeportPark Saturday afternoon.
Several Sheriff-led groups rode their bikes to the park from various locations around Santa Clarita, with Mayor Bob Kellar and City Manager Ken Pulskamp leading separate parties.
When everyone convened at Bridgeport Park, there was a host of events, including stationary bike races, free hamburgers and hotdogs from the Lion’s Club, and the “Road To The Cure” raffle which raises money for cancer awareness and the Michael Hoefflin Foundation. Raffle tickets are on sale now and cost five dollars.
The Amgen Tour of California is rapidly approaching, with the riders set to finish stage 6 of their race in Santa Clarita on February 23rd.
