The National Weather Service is predicting rain and possibly
thunderstorms Tuesday through Wednesday, with heavy rain later Tuesday
afternoon threatening the recent burn sites.

Residents in recent burn areas should be aware that rains
can cause debris flows and flash floods.

A weather system 600 miles off the Southern
California
coast will bring increasing clouds and cooler
temperatures to the area today.

By Wednesday, the rain is expected to lighten to showers,
lasting into the evening and tapering off overnight.

Thanksgiving looks dry for a large portion of the county,
excluding the north slopes and eastern LA County.

Rainfall estimates for this system are between one and one
and a half inches of rain across lower elevations, 1 to 2 inches in the
foothills and mountains and 3 to 4 inches in the mountains, with the highest
rainfall occurring across south-facing slopes.

Snow is expected to fall at
elevations above 6,500 feet.
