The first rains of 2009 are expected to continue through the
weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
A low pressure system off
the coast is expected to move slowly east and bring with it significant
rainfall.
Up to one and a half inches of rainfall is predicted, with the
highest concentration in foothill and mountain areas, where up to three inches
of rain may fall.
The rain brings with it a chance for flash flooding and debris flows in and around
recent burn areas. Due to the subrtropical nature of the system, snow levels
are expected to be high and above resort levels.
