    Congratulations, Brandon Arndt of Hart High School for being a “Player of the Week”.
     
    Hart senior Brandon Arndt returned an interception for a touchdown late in the 4th quarter that broke a 14-14 tie with St. Bonaventure and gave the Indians the momentum they needed to ultimate knock off the No. 1 seed in the playoffs - the St. Bonaventure Seraphs, 27-14

    College of the Canyons Biotechnology Clean Room Set For Opening

    College of the Canyons is putting the finishing touches on its new biotechnology center, part of a two-year project to create a state-of-the-art laboratory for the life sciences and engineering program.  Located just 10 minutes from its main campus, the College of the Canyons Biotechnology Center contains a 2000 square foot clean room within a 4700 square foot facility in the Mann Biomedical Park.
     

    Journey to Tibet

    Fom the snowcapped Himalayas and into the heart of rural Tibetan culture, Dorjee Tsewang, founder of the Tibet Aid Foundation, shares the rich culture of his homeland Tibet in his breathtaking free audio-visual slide presentation "Journey to Tibet."
     
    "Journey to Tibet" will be shown at the Public Gallery, Room R-206 in the College of the Canyons Library from 12 to 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 28, 2005.

    Castaics New High School for 09

    It'll probably cost over one hundred million dollars, but school officials say the new Castaic High School will be worth the cost, & effort, when completed in 2009.  The William S. Hart Union High School District has given the go ahead for written plans, with detailed architectural drawings expected in September.

    SCV Teachers Dispute Governors Reform

    Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is expected to propse an education initiative known as "recognition pay," which pays teachers in low-performing schools more than other schools....

    Representatives from the California Teachers Association's SCV Chapter, including Saugus High School educator Orval Garrison, disagree with this policy.


    Local teachers argue that the state should make the low performing schools better, rather than trying to entice teachers to work at those schools and settle for lower results.

    Around the country, the issue of soda machines on school campuses continues to be a big issue...Vending machines are huge moneymakers for ASB departments at schools all over the country, including SCV schools, primarily in the Wm. S. Hart District.
