The 2005 annual, nationwide Arthritis Walk took place in the Santa Clarita Valley on Sunday, May 15 at
. The walk was a great success, with the total amount of donations at $12,177, all going to "support Arthritis Foundation research, public health and public policy efforts to improve the lives of people with arthritis."
On Saturday May 14, Rita Barna hosted some very special guests on her "Along the Trail" show, which you can hear Saturday mornings from 9am to 10am on AM-1220 KHTS. Ina and Hutner Wurts are members of the California Rangers- a non-profit youth equestrian organization modeled after the Equestrian Cavalry of the 1800's.

Dave Hirschberg, owner of Advanced Aquatics in Newhall, visited Ms. Storch's 4th grade class at Sulphur Springs Elementary School on two occasions and finished creating the tropical fish tank for the class on March 10, 2005 (which was also Wacky Hair Day for the class!)
Legendary NFL coach, ESPN analyst and football player Mike Ditka is one of only two athletes to ever win Super Bowls as a player, assistant coach and head coach. Ditka was named Rookie of the Year after catching 56 passes as a Chicago Bear in his first year in the NFL.
