This year, Santa Clarita’s Fourth of July started with the annual Fourth of July Parade through downtown Newhall and Valencia. Sheriff Lee Baca, Mayor Marsha McLean, Congressman Buck McKeon and Assemblyman Cameron Smyth were only a few of the many participants in this year’s parade.
On June 16th, KHTS drove the antique fire truck down to the Shops at Tourney to celebrate their grand opening. Shaun Valentine and Jon Dell were on hand to broadcast live from the event, and to give away tons of great prizes.

The shops at Tourney are located at the corner of Magic Mountain Parkway and Tourney Road, near the I-5.
KHTS was there as one of the most visible shopping centers in Santa Clarita celebrated their brand new look. The Bouquet Center, affixed in the center of Santa Clarita on Bouquet Canyon Road and Newhall Ranch Road just got prettier.
KHTS listeners got a real treat on Wednesday, May 16, 2007. During our afternoon drive-time show with Shaun Valentine, students from the Sulphur Springs School stopped by the KHTS studio to share their recent project. The 6th grade students created their own music CD of songs that they wrote and performed under the direction of Mrs. Kim Treat, who teaches upper grade music, chorus and computer lab at Sulphur Springs School,
Saturday, April 14th, KHTS had a host of special guests read sections of his novel Fahrenheit 451 on air. The event was a part of the national “Big Read” effort, which aims at promoting reading in select cities. (CLICK TO HEAR THE READINGS)
The following day, Ray Bradbury himself was at the activities center where he spoke about his work.
