    Dionne Warwick Plays to Sold Out PAC Audience

    On Friday, January 13th the legendary Dionne Warwick performed her greatest hits as well as songs from her new CD "Only Trust Your Heart" to a sold out audience at the College of the Canyons Performing Arts Center.

    Warwick, known for such songs as "Do You Know the Way to San Jose," "Walk On By," and "I'll Never Fall In Love Again" has enjoyed a career with hits spanning 50 years. Her son, David Elliot, joined Ms. Warwick for riveting duet performances of "Say a Little Prayer" and closed the show with "That's What Friends Are For."

    Pico Canyon Elementary's "Nickels for Nails" Start-Up Assembly

    Nickels for Nails is the youth-led fundraising component of Youth United, our initiative that mobilizes youth ages 5-25 to fund raise for the SCV Homes for Heroes program.  It’s easy to help, and even the youngest child can understand the purpose, as the jar fills up and the kids receive updates on the veterans we have been able to help and home modifications that change their lives.

    Thanksgiving Dinner At The Newhall & Canyon Country Boys And Girls Clubs


    More than 350 people attended the annual SCV Boys and Girl’s Club Thanksgiving dinner on Tuesday evening November 22 at the Canyon Country/Sierra Vista facility, benefiting Club families and families from Single Mother’s Outreach.

    Boys and Girls Club Senior Professional Officer Jim Ventress said everyone involved was overwhelmed by the generosity of their community.

    Nickels For Nails - Plum Canyon Elementary

    Plum Canyon Elementary total amount it was $2,227!

    With the money raised at Plum Canyon Elementary our veteran Joshua Murphy was able to get a new shower. Joshua hurt his back and head in Iraq after being struck by mortar and gets dizzy and cannot bend over in the shower, the shower was also very old and moldy, which was very hard for Joshua to fix due to his low income and back problems. Now he has a brand new shower with a seat and hand rails so that he will not fall down or over and can be more independent and safe in his home. It is a wonderful holiday gift.
