    Santa Clarita Street Fair

    This is a monthly marketplace at College of the Canyons in the parking lot next to the football stadium that features local arts and crafts vendors. Several handmade items, ranging from the practical to simply decorative, were offered. Gourmet food trucks were on hand for hungry shoppers. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the SCV Emergency Winter Shelter.

    More than 80 home and garden businesses and organizations were featured at the 2nd annual show, sponsored by KHTS AM1220, held March 26-27 at the Hyatt Regency Valencia.

    Michael Hoefflin Foundation Pediatric Cancer Challenge Walk

    The Michael Hoefflin Foundation Pediatric Cancer Challenge Walk, held March 19 at College of the Canyons, was a fund-raising walk-a-thon and a first-time event for the foundation. The Michael Hoefflin Foundation supports families of children affected by the disease as well as research into treatments and the search for a cure for pediatric cancers.

     

    SkyHawks Football

    The Skyhawks are a Semi-Pro team that call Santa Clarita their home.  They played the San Diego Thunder in their first game of 2011.  They played at Canyon high school.  The team also partnered with the Michael Hoefflin Foundation and play to help children with cancer.  They lost the game 22 to 13.  The half time show was performed by a band called Audio Kill.

     

    Santa Clarita Valley Concert Band

    The Santa Clarita Valley Concert Band performed at the Canyon Theater Guild.  They were under the direction of Tim Durand.  Their show was titled Musical Memories and featured a concert style band number from every decade in the 20th and 21st century.  Their musicals numbers involved humor and seriousness.
