On Tuesday, June 7, the city's library construction soared to new heights in Newhall.

Canyon Country resident Tony Marincola represents the 17th Airborne Division at the annual SCV Memorial Day observance at Eternal Valley Memorial Park. Marincola, 94, survived the Battle of the Bulge and also served in the 101st and 82nd Airborne Brigades before coming home in 1945.

Everybody gets into the act at the Amgen Tour of California start Sunday May 22 at the Westfield Valencia Town Center. The race's final stage left from Town Center Drive early Sunday morning and finished about three hours later at Amgen headquarters in Thousand Oaks.

National Runner's Month is a campaign to celebrate running and encourage everyone to get outside and go for a run in May.  By bringing in noted runners and Olympic athletes, Dick's Sporting Goods wants to encourage both casual running and competitive runners.  Their theme: Get out and get active.  To inspire runners on Saturday, May 21, Olympic Runner Ryan Hall, who holds the U.S. half-marathon time record talked with runners of all ages.
