Local Girl Taking The Plunge For Special Olympics [1]

Tue, 02/27/2007 - 2:30pm  |  jon.dell [2]

Becky Warloe is willing to sacrifice comfort for a good cause.ImageShe’s made a vow to jump into Castaic Lake not once, but 24 times March 9th through 10th. It’s a fundraiser that sees people sponsor her to take the plunge into the cold water every hour on the hour for a full day.

She’s hoping to raise $2,000 or more for the event, and all that money will go straight to the Special Olympics, a program she is heavily involved in.

“Not only is it the athletes and their willingness to learn new sports, but it’s also the group of coaches and volunteers that you get to meet and be with,” said Becky.
