City Coordinating Festival Art as Supporter of Event
Prepare to enter a world filled with fine wines, mouth-watering foods, world-renowned music and local art as the City of Santa Clarita welcomes the All Corked Up International Wine & Food Festival on Saturday, August 19 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Saugus Speedway, located at 22500 Soledad Canyon Road. All Corked Up, a wine merchant and storage facility located in Santa Clarita is holding the festival to raise money for the SCV Senior Center in an effort to provide meals to home-bound senior citizens as well as funds for various events for local seniors.
The festival will offer wine selections and victuals from 55 international vineyards including Silver Oak, Caymus, Cakebread and Far Niete and will feature more than 20 restaurants with international cuisine from various countries around the globe. This event is expected to attract wine connoisseurs near and far. “The All Corked Up Wine Festival will be a great event for our residents and visitors to enjoy. The City welcomes the festival and is excited that it will bring so many eclectic tastes and cultures into the City of Santa Clarita and raise money to help the senior center, all inclusive of one event,” said Laurene Weste, City Mayor. “The festival offers attendees a unique blend of wine tasting and wine education, vineyards from around the globe, tantalizing meals, live musical entertainment, talent from authentic California artisans and the opportunity to spend time with friends while benefiting a valuable organization in our community,” said Jay Schutz, owner of All Corked Up and festival coordinator. “It is nice to offer folks an occasion, locally, while enjoying a cultural experience”. The All Corked Up International Wine & Food Festival will join other great cultural events such as the Cowboy Festival, Loose Goose Wine Festival and the Street Arts Festival, which all call Santa Clarita home. These events are great for the community, they are fun for our residents to attend, and they also enhance the visitor desirability of Santa Clarita encouraging economic activity.
“The City is a supporter of this event and will be providing the festival with 25 local artists from the Santa Clarita Artists Association to help set the mood and will also have a booth at the festival promoting other Santa Clarita events” said Janet Zaldua, Arts and Events Coordinator. The festival will feature a diverse ‘All Star’ musical line up that includes internationally renowned musicians, some of whom have performed with Carlos Santana, Mary J. Blige, Nick Lachey and Natalie Cole. Tickets for the All Corked Up International Wine & Food Festival can be purchased in advanced at All Corked Up, located at 23640 Diamond Place in Santa Clarita or online at www.allcorkedup.com. “The City helped market the event to encourage visitor participation and will be surveying visitors to gauge the economic impact of the event on Santa Clarita,” said Jason Crawford, Economic Development Assistant. Event tourism, both cultural and sporting, is an important focus for the City of Santa Clarita for several reasons. The direct economic benefit local businesses receive from visitor dollars, as well as the positive name recognition Santa Clarita receives by being associated with these premiere events.
