The City of Santa Clarita invites everyone out to the final Old Town Newhall Farmers’ Market for the 2005 season on Thursday, September 22. The Old Town Newhall Farmers’ Market is held every Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the corner of San Fernando Road and 6th Streets. This final market will mark the end of a successful 2005 season of fresh produce, handmade crafts, and live entertainment. The City will reopen the market in the spring of 2006.
Dozens of local farmers and craftspeople will bring out their wares for this final event of the year. Families are encouraged to attend and check out the fresh produce and handmade crafts available. As always, the market will also feature an assortment of prepared foods such as tamales that everyone can enjoy while browsing.
“We hope to encourage everyone to come out for this final Farmers’ Market of the year,” says Jenny Aurit, Project Technician for the City. “We have enjoyed hosting the weekly event and are excited to start up again next spring.”
Parking for the Farmers’ Market is available adjacent to the market at Fifth and Railroad Avenue. For more information, please contact the City’s Economic Development Division at 661/255-4347.
