There are moments in all of our lives that leave a lasting impression, positive or negative. Sometimes things happen to us, like accidents or events, and other times we make choices that lead us in certain directions of change. These extraordinary moments impact our lives and are often so revolutionary that they are life-altering.
Most people can identify at least one thing about themselves that they would like to change.

Personal transformation affects the way that you view yourself and the world around you. Perhaps you have asked yourself questions like:
- Can I increase my self-awareness?
- Can I enhance my self-knowledge?
- Can I shape my identity?
- How can I improve my well-being?
- How can I identify my potential?
- How can I improve my quality of life?
When people experience personal transformations, they open themselves up to the opportunities of finding the answers to those types of questions. A personal transformation will foster a fundamental change in someone’s belief system, in particular how they see themselves, how they interpret life, and what they value the most in life.
Personal transformation takes you closer to finding inner peace, joy, and realizing your own potential. Mind-body practices, like yoga, meditation, and breathing exercises, are very effective tools to help people with personal transformations. Many forms of yoga include physical postures, meditation, and breathing exercises as an integral part of the yoga practice. When a yoga practitioner learns to connect the mind and body, the effects and benefits of their practice begin to improve and become a catalyst for change.
Yoga teaches us to be present, paying attention to how we are feeling during each pose – physically, mentally, and sometimes even emotionally. The more we are able to ‘tune out’ distractions, the more we are able to ‘tune in’ to our present state of being. We increase our body awareness and our awareness of what is going on around us, and develop the skills to embrace things as they are, no matter what the situation.
