The event, to be held at J.R.’s Comedy Club inside Marie Callender’s in Valencia, features a stand-up comedy performance by renowned comedian Tobe Hixx, as well as a silent auction, raffle, and food and drinks for purchase from the restaurant.
All of the proceeds from the auction and raffle and 50 percent of every $20 admission ticket will go directly to the Brittany Foundation to continue their life-saving work, event officials said.
“The Brittany Foundation is a nonprofit, no-kill sanctuary for homeless dogs with a focus on seniors and special-needs dogs that don’t get adopted quickly from the shelters,” said Michelle Sathe, event organizer. “The Brittany Foundation rescues these dogs and provides them with love, great food and medical care until they find forever homes. And if they don’t, they spend their lives at the sanctuary.”

While there won’t be any dogs present at the event, the Brittany Foundation’s founder, Nancy Anderson, will be there to talk about the organization and its mission, as well as volunteer opportunities, Sathe said.
Hixx, who is originally from Omaha, Neb., is well-known for bringing laughter to the men and women of the U.S. military with his stand-up comedy routines, travelling to U.S. military bases all over the world. He has currently performed in more than 15 countries, including Iraq and Afghanistan.
Prizes featured in the event’s silent auction and raffle include a selection of merchandise ranging from clothing and jewelry to artwork, books and CDs, event officials said.
