Three court cases with Santa Clarita Valley ties worked their way through the courts this week in San Fernando, according to an official with the District Attorney’s Office.

A convicted child molester, a man accused of killing his girlfriend and a rape suspect were all in court.
Child annoyance charge
Yale Yurman, a convicted child molester , stands accused of child annoyance, and is expected back in court Jan. 24.
Yurman’s defense attorney filed a 995 motion Friday, which seeks to dismiss the charge, but it was denied, according to a Los Angeles County Superior Court official in San Fernando.
Yurman pleaded not guilty at a formal arraignment Oct. 11, after he was ordered to answer the charges.
Deputy District Attorney Laura Knight-Jackson is prosecuting the case.

Yurman was arrested in July after Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies received complaints that Yurman allegedly was following children and filming them, said Sheriff’s Station Deputy Josh Dubin, at the time of the arrest.
Yurman is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
A Saugus man accused in the murder of his longtime, live-in girlfriend  had his case continued for a fifth time Thursday.
Eric Earle, 41, of Saugus, is due back in court Jan. 8.
Earle was arraigned on a murder charge June 5, after Judge Lloyd Nash found May 22 there was sufficient evidence to merit a trial for the accusation that he killed 41-year-old Karla Brada.
Earle pleaded not guilty, and he’s been in custody since Jan. 25, 2012, according to Sheriff’s Department records.
Deputies were called to the Saugus condominium Earle shared with Brada on the 20700 block of Plum Canyon Road the morning of Sept. 1, 2011, after Earle woke up and found Brada unresponsive .
Brada was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel, and homicide investigators took over the case.
Earle is currently being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
Convicted murderer accused of rape
A convicted murderer from Acton  who was charged with rape in June had a separate weapons charge added, and the cases against him have been combined, an official said Friday.
His case is back on the court’s docket for Dec. 11.
Arthur Edward Lindsey, 73 , was accused of possession of a firearm, which is not allowed by Lindsey because he is a convicted felon.
“We filed two counts (Friday) of rape of an unconscious person, one count of oral copulation of an unconscious person and one count of sexual penetration by a foreign object,” said Jane Robison, spokeswoman for the District Attorney’s Office.
Lindsey stands accused of raping a 29-year-old woman from Santa Clarita.
Lindsey has a record of violent sex crimes.
Lindsey was convicted of a rape-murder in Indiana in 1968.
“He pleaded no contest to not being registered as a sex offender (on May 18, 2005),” Robison said. “He was sentenced to four years in state prison.”
Lindsey’s most recent registered address is 10645 Soledad Canyon Road, Apartment A, in Acton, according to California’s Megan’s Law website .
