Life Leadership with Alex Urbina - September 16, 2013
On today’s show, Alex and Wendy talk with Wendy about Yoga and how and why people partake in this form of exercise and what can come out of the practice.
Yoga is the practice of getting in touch with your body and mind and getting yourself to a better place physically and emotionally and even spiritually, guest Wendy said.
Yoga makes you listen to your body, and recently I have been ignoring my body but I can’t do that anymore, Alex said. It was a wake up call for me to better my life so I can be around for my kids and their kids when that time comes.
One of the easy things that can impact your life is stretching for 45 minutes when you wake up and start the day. It is a good way for your body to expand and be ready to take in the day.
Also, there is something to be said about the use of technology today, guest Wendy said. It is very challenging to be still and people often have to work at it.
“People in my class focus on one thing, breathing, being still and becoming calm,” Wendy said. “Being out of having ten things going on at once helps in a great way.”
The way I teach my students is to be rather than doing so much but doing is important as well, guest Wendy said.
I can see that when someone starts Yoga, they are “doing Yoga”, and in months they are “being Yoga”, and become centered and focused and live a life of peace.
It is great to see people become something rather than just viewing it as doing it.
