Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies are keeping a close eye on crime this week and reminding everyone else in the valley to protect themselves as temperatures remain in the triple-digits.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department released a heat advisory on Monday  with tips on how to stay cool, avoid dehydration and where to find cooling centers across the county.
Crimes that kept deputies busy this week includes arrests and several ongoing investigations.
Canyon Country’s “backyard butcher,” Roberto Celedon is in custody again after he violated the terms of his probation and a slaughtered animal was allegedly found in his home . He was arrested at his home on Friday, Aug. 30.
Nineteen-year-old Laguna Niguel resident Bryce Laspisa went missing Friday, Aug. 30  after his car overturned off of the Castaic Lake Main Boat Launch access road. He is listed as a Critical Missing Person nationwide. Detectives are still investigating.
Detective are also investigating two dead bodies found within a week , one in Gorman and one off of Lake Hughes Road. It has been determined at this point that both bodies are male. The body found near Lake Hughes Road is too badly burned to be identified without dental records. It is not yet known if one of the bodies belongs to Missing Person Bryce Laspisa.
Christopher Guthrie, 18, of Saugus was arrested for knowingly concealing a 17-year-old female  who had run away from a Santa Clarita-based rehab facility for drug addiction. The minor was recovered from his home on Aug. 30 and Guthrie was arrested on Wednesday.
Several defendants with Santa Clarita ties appeared in court this week, for everything from burglary to murder.
Ricardo Jimenez, 26, of North Hollywood was charged with murder Tuesday  in the death of a woman who fell out of a moving vehicle on the 210 freeway and was hit by oncoming traffic on Thursday, Aug. 29.
Cesar Navarro, 21, of Newhall pleaded not guilty Wednesday  to the stabbing death of rival gang member Franco Olea in December 2012.
Sherman Cox, 24, of Newhall was scheduled to appear in court Thursday , but had his case continued until Monday. Cox is charged with felony burglary and narcotics possession after a vehicle burglary in Granary Square in June.
Alex Jackson, 29, of Littlerock, was arraigned in court Thursday  on murder charges, after four of his pit bulls reportedly mauled and killed a Littlerock woman in May.

Below are reports from different Sheriff zone's throughout the SCV. KHTS lists the zones alphabetical order as they are made available.
Here's a summary of incidents that took place in the last week in Santa Clarita.
The deputy zone leader for Valencia is on a medical leave, and expected to be back within several weeks, according to Sheriff’s Station officials.
The crime trends are still being analyzed for that area, and law enforcement resources are being adjusted accordingly.
Canyon Country east
Last week, the following Part 1 crimes occurred in Canyon Country East:
(1) Aggravated Assault, (5) Residential Burglaries, (3) Vehicle Burglaries, (2) Grand Thefts, (1) Petty Theft:
An aggravated assault occurred near Sierra Hwy/American Beauty Dr. The subject threw a rock at the victim. The victim did not sustain any major injuries. The case is being investigated by Santa Clarita Station detectives.
Over the past week the number of vehicle burglaries has decreased. Although they have decreased there were still three in Zone 8. The burglaries are still occurring in the Jakes Way area. The items were taken from center consoles and the trunks of the vehicles. Residents should continue to make sure that they are not leaving valuables in plain sight in their vehicles. We also had two thefts from unlocked vehicles in Zone 8. In both thefts, the drivers forgot to lock their vehicles and items were taken from their cars.
There were two hot prowl residential burglaries reported this week. The first occurred near Sand Canyon Rd and Lost Canyon. The homeowner heard glass shattering near the kitchen area of his home. He went to his kitchen area to investigate and saw the suspect standing in his kitchen. The homeowner retrieved his firearm and confronted the suspect in the kitchen area. A shot was fired at the suspect who then fled the home. The suspect took two purses from the house. The suspect has not been identified at this time. An additional Hot Prowl burglary occurred in the Jakes Way area. The victims came home to find their front door kicked in. As they entered the house two male suspects were seen running from their apartment. The suspects stole a Toshiba laptop computer.
Deputies arrested a male suspect for possessing items that were taken during a vehicle burglary in the Jakes Way area. The suspect was in possession of a stolen wallet from the burglarized vehicle.
This week in Zone-4 Saugus we again only had two reported Part-1 Crimes. There was a commercial burglary to a business in the 26200 block of Bouquet Canyon Road between Sunday, Aug. 23 and Wednesday, Aug. 26. Unknown suspect(s) cut the fence to the storage at the location and stole two solar blankets.
We had a grand theft at a movie ranch near Haskell Canyon Road between Wednesday, July 31 and Thursday, Aug. 1. The victim said that a generator and other electrical equipment, totaling more than $9,000, were taken from the movie shoot location. Detectives are searching for the stolen items in both cases.
There were multiple arrests made over the past week. The arrests were for theft, narcotics, assault and drunk in public.
