Creative Years Preschool celebrated winter in July this week by bringing snow to their summer camp on July 17.
“It’s something that the school does every summer and it’s one of the highest enrollment weeks,” Debbie Kneisler, Director at Creative Years, said.
Students had a chance to avoid the heat at their summer camp program by having snowball fights, making snow angels and building snowmen. Over 100 students went to camp dressed in their normal summer clothes, but brought mittens to keep their hands warm in the snow.

“The kids loved it,” Kneisler said. “They couldn’t wait to go back out and play.”
During this program, the students were also able to paint ice and cut out snowflakes. They snacked on snow cones and frozen yogurt pops and did experiments with freezing water.
Creative Years has many different week long summer camps that are exciting and educational. Summer camp themes include Space Camp, Amazing Animals, Circus Circus, Mud and Goo, Wet and Wild, Pirates and Princesses and Dinosaur Romp. Summer camps help children develop social and academic skills in a fun and safe environment.
Since 1979, Creative Years has been educating young children in the Santa Clarita Valley. Full day and half day programs are available to prepare children for success in school and in life. Creative Years strives to teach children how to get along with others, solve problems and be responsible individuals.
The classroom curriculum at Creative Years is designed to help children grow socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically. Teachers are all “lead teachers” and certified in CPR and first aid. They have chosen careers in teaching and are qualified to teach students ages two through six.

Creative Years had park-like play yards designed specifically for young children. The outdoor yards focus on the need for physical activity and motor skills, all in a safe and fun environment. Older children can play in the “Bike Trail Yard” and the “Sandbox Yard.” Two year olds play in their own designated area with toys that are age appropriate to keep them safe.
Creative Years welcomes the community to visit summer camps and take tours of the campus anytime throughout the year.
