A Saugus man who’s being called “Casanova” by media outlets because he received a one-year sentence for scamming women he met through dating sites, is afoul of the law once again.

There was also a burglary suspect who was caught quickly after his crime, two murder suspects in court and a possible suicide in Gorman.
The murder suspect was arrested this week in connection with allegations that he raped an unconscious woman  in the unincorporated parts of Los Angeles.
The suspect was convicted of murder in Indiana in 1968, and moved to Southern California in 1998.
Eric Earle, 43, of Saugus, pleaded not guilty to the murder of Karla Brada  in a 2-year-old case.
The Valentine’s Day scammer  was arrested again on charges that he was committed the same crimes he already received a one-year sentence for.
And Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies arrested a burglary suspect in Valencia  with help from the community.
A suicide at Hungry Valley State Park  earlier in the week was also being investigated by Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies.
There were several other significant arrests made by deputies, which are highlighted in the station’s weekly Nixle reports. Nixle reports provide a snapshot of crime for the past week, as well as notify citizens of any local crime trends. Click here  to sign up.
Below are reports from the different Sheriff zone's throughout the Santa Clarita Valley.
The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station divides its coverage into five zones for the Nixle reports. They are listed below alphabetical order.
Here's a summary of incidents that took place in the last week in Santa Clarita (If your zone isn’t listed, keep checking back for updates):
Canyon Country East
This week in Canyon Country - East we had 10 Part-1 crimes. Of those reported crimes, there was 1 assault, 2 burglaries, 6 larcenies and 1 stolen vehicle.
An assault occurred in the 29700 block of Iron Canyon Road on June 1st at 2:00 a.m following a party. The property owner ended the party and asked everyone to leave. While he was standing outside of the home, he was stabbed by an unknown suspect.
A residential burglary occurred in the 27900 block of Solamint Road on May 29th at 12:00 pm. The victim had her window open when she heard a knock at her front door, when she looked out she saw a male standing at the door. She did not answer because she did not recognize him and walked away. She heard a noise coming from inside her home and saw the same male entering her home through the open window. A burglary occurred at Fair Oaks Elementary School between May 31st at 10:00 p.m. and June 1st, at 7:00 a.m. Three classrooms were broken into. A projection monitor and currency were stolen. Entrance was made by breaking the classroom window.
A theft occurred from the 27600 block of Rock Rose Lane. The victim’s computer modem was possibly stolen by her roommate. A shoplifting occurred from the Target store. The suspects were seen on surveillance video using a key to open up the display case and steal a pair for headphones. A shoplifting occurred from the Vons’s store. The suspect was seen placing several items in a bag. An employee confronted the suspect as he was exiting the store. He gave her the bag containing the stolen items and left the location. A vehicle burglary occurred in the 27100 block of Karns Court. A purse was stolen from the front seat of the vehicle. Entrance was made by smashing the window.
A vehicle burglary occurred in the 27600 block of Dagmar Way. A laptop was stolen from the vehicle. No forced entry was seen. A theft from an unlocked vehicle occurred from the 29100 block of Flowerpark Drive. A Garmin navigation device and currency were taken from the vehicle.
A 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan was stolen from Dolan Way and Sierra Highway between May 23rd at 8:00 p.m and May 29th at 7:40 a.m. The vehicle was recovered on June 1st by LAPD Foothill Division.
Continue to lock your windows, garage doors and make sure to also lock your vehicle. Do not leave any personal property visible in your car. If you have to leave it in the car, secure it in the trunk.
Canyon Country West
This past week in Zone 7, the following Part-1 Crimes occurred:
(1) Robbery/Attempt, (2) Residential Burglaries, (3) Grand Thefts, (2) Petty Thefts and (1) Shoplift:
An attempt robbery occurred near the 20600 block of Soledad Canyon Road. The suspect approached the victim and put a knife to his throat, demanding the victim’s car keys. When the victim refused to give up his keys, the suspect fled the scene. The suspect was spotted, not far from the location, shortly after the incident by Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station Volunteers on Patrol. They directed responding deputies to the suspect’s location and he was subsequently arrested.
Two garage burglaries occurred near the 19800 block of Sandpiper Place. An unknown suspect entered the locked garages and took items from unlocked vehicles. It is believed the suspect(s) disengaged the chain from the motor and were able to gain access by pulling open the main garage door.
A grand theft occurred near the 26500 block of Carl Boyer Drive. A male suspect attempted to “pick pocket” the victim. When the suspect was confronted by the victim and his friend outside of the location, the suspect produced a knife. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies.
A GTA occurred near the 20400 block of Soledad Canyon Road. The suspect entered the victim’s vehicle, which was left running in front of the location, and drove away. A vehicle that dropped the suspect off was detained and the driver of that vehicle was arrested on unrelated charges. The vehicle was recovered a short distance away from the scene. The suspect was arrested by assisting deputies a short time after the incident.
A petty theft/shoplift occurred near the 26400 block of Carl Boyer Dr. Two male suspects exited the location, failing to pay for several cases of beer. The suspects were followed by loss prevention officers however, they fled the scene prior to the arrival of Sheriff’s personnel. The case is currently under investigation.
This week Newhall (Zone 6) had eleven reported Part-1 crimes.
Newhall saw two commercial burglaries, one residential burglary, two incidents of grand theft, three petty thefts, two vehicles were reported stolen, and one vehicle burglary occurred.
A grand theft was reported from the 23500 block of Newhall Avenue. A tenant stole the oven and microwave from the property he was formally renting from the victim (ref -07305).
A grand theft was reported from the area of Valle Del Oro and Costa Brava in Newhall. The suspect approached the victim and grabbed an iPad from the roof of her car as she was unloading. The victim screamed at the suspect and he dropped the iPad and fled on a bicycle (ref -07334).
A 1995 Ford F-150 was stolen from the 24000 block of Arch Street (ref -07325). A 1993 Geo Prizm was stolen from the area of Wiley Canyon Road and Lyons Avenue. The Geo Prizm was found two days later on Cinema Drive and Bouquet Canyon Road (ref -07399).
A commercial burglary was reported in the 23800 block of Lyons Avenue. Unknown suspects pried open the rear door of the location. US Currency was stolen from inside the business (ref -07504).
A bicycle was stolen from the 24909 block of Newhall Avenue (ref -07418).
A residential burglary was reported in the 24800 block of Railroad Avenue. Forced entry was made into the home. Firearms were among the items that were stolen (ref -07254).
A vehicle burglary was reported from the 24300 block of Main Street. The victim’s window was smashed on the rear passenger side of her vehicle. An iPod, a purse, and miscellaneous paper were stolen from inside the vehicle (ref -07466).
There were multiple arrests made over the past week. The arrests include narcotics, burglary, domestic violence, theft and DUI.
Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station will be conducting a DUI checkpoint on Friday, June 7th 2013 from 6:00pm until approximately 2:00 a.m. Remember to always drive sober or choose your ride home.
Again crime in the Saugus area was down as compared to this time last year. There were only two reported part one crimes in Saugus last week however, both of the crimes occurred prior to last week. Due to proactive Deputies and alert citizens, crime is continuing to stay at an all-time low.
There was a commercial burglary in the 25600 block of Springbrook Avenue between Friday, 05/10/13, and Monday, 05/13/13. The victim discovered his vehicle was stolen from a storage container at the location. The victim provided Deputies with possible suspect information regarding the theft. Detectives are investigating the case.
There was a residential burglary which occurred in the 22400 block of Shadow lane. The crime was reported this week however, it occurred at the end of April. The victim stated that someone entered her residence and stole a large amount of jewelry and money. Due to the delay in reporting the crime, deputies were unable to locate a point of entry into the house.
There were multiple arrests made in the Saugus area over the past week. The arrests include narcotics, burglary, domestic violence, theft and DUI.
