Ska, rock and reggae band PapaFish, based in Northridge and a favorite in the Santa Clarita Valley as well as the San Fernando Valley, rocks a set of brand-new material in the group's TV debut on the next premiere edition of SCVTV's “House Blend.”
The WAVE award-nominated music-and-interview program, hosted by longtime Santa Clarita journalist Stephen K. Peeples , airs on SCVTV and streams on the Web at www.scvtv.com on Saturday, April 25, at 10 p.m. Pacific Time.
PapaFish members Nancy Rae (vocals), Jason Frogoso (drums), Greg Menjivar (guitar), Dante "Peruvian Thunder" Chocano (bass) and Tony Sangiacomo (sax) kick off their "House Blend" set with "So Far" and "Chicks Can Dance," from the band's just-released EP "The Lab."

They also introduce the official video for PapaFish's latest single, "I to 10," and close the show with "Lost," a song Menjivar said was only about two weeks old, and hadn't even been recorded yet. It marked another in a long series of world premieres on "House Blend."
Between songs,“House Blend” host Peeples talks with PapaFish's bandmembers about how they formed out of jam sessions on a CSUN dorm balcony ("when ska tripped over rock and face-planted into reggae," as they put it); how they paid production and packaging costs for "The Lab" and expanded their fan base through a successful Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign; and how much they're looking forward to playing the 10th annual Summer Meltdown concert for autism awareness, to be staged Saturday, May 4 at the Santa Clarita Skate Park by the Yes I Can students with and without disabilities at Canyon High School. It will be PapaFish's third Summer Meltdown.
