Assemblyman Scott Wilk (R-Santa Clarita) has been appointed by Republican Leader Connie Conway to serve as a member of the Assembly Republican leadership team for the 2013-14 legislative session.
“It is a huge honor to be selected to serve on the leadership team,” said Wilk, “My goal is to serve my constituents and this appointment allows me to do just that to the fullest of my ability here in the Capitol.”
As a member of the Assembly Republican Leadership team, Wilk will join the Republican Leader to help devise and promote Republican legislative strategy and achieve their caucus’ political goals. Members of the Republican Caucus leadership team also play an important role in communicating their priorities to the news media, Republican groups and voters throughout the state.

“Despite being in Sacramento for just a few short months, Scott Wilk has already earned a reputation as one of the Legislature’s hardest-working members, working across party lines to get things done for his constituents,” said Conway “I am pleased to have Scott as part of my leadership team and look forward to benefitting from his energy and passion as we work to advance our fiscally-responsible Republican ideas in the State Assembly.”
Previously Wilk was named  to sit on the Assembly’s select committees on Biotechnology; Community Colleges; Addressing Out of School, Unemployed Youth; Status of Boys and Men of Color in California; and Youth and California’s Future, as well as the Assembly Health, Higher Education, Business and Professions, and Arts and Entertainment committees. He also serves as the Vice Chair of the Assembly Rules Committee.
