Football Players From SCV Make College Commitments On National Signing Day [1]
Three football players from College of the Canyons will continue their careers at four-year universities after making their commitments on national signing day.
Cornerback Sam Lee will transfer to Brigham Young University. Offensive lineman Lloyd Tunstill is headed to Texas Christian University. Linebacker Justyn Eddins is going to the University of Texas San Antonio.
Six football players in total from COC are transferring to four-year universities. Eric Finney is going to Illinois, Jesse Sampson is headed to Wyoming and Jake Wooley will play at Portland State.
Tedric Thompson, a senior defensive back at Valencia High School, chose to play college football at the University of Colorado.
Canyon’s Drew Wolitarsky and Golden Valley’s Leon Jacobs honored their early commitments. Wolitarsky will attend the University of Minnesota and Jacobs is headed to the University of Wisconsin.
In college golf, The Master’s College men finished third in the Cal State San Marcos Spring Invite. The Master’s College men shot 36-over par in the three-day tournament and were 15 shots behind Oklahoma City College.
Nolan Sand shot the low round for The Mustangs, ranked No. 8 in the NAIA. He was 4-over par and tied for fifth place.
In college softball, the College of the Canyons won its season opener, 6-4, over East LA College. Ashley Colon went 2-for-4 with two doubles.

In the NBA, the Clippers got a much-needed win, 86-76, over the Orlando Magic. The Clipper snapped a three-game losing streak.
In the NHL, the Kings are in Nashville for a game against the Predators tonight. The Kings are coming off a 4-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday night.
But the Kings lost to the Predators, 2-1 in a shootout, last week at Staples Center.
