The Santa Clarita Valley Man & Woman of the Year Committee is now accepting nominations for community leaders and outstanding volunteers to be considered for the 2013 Man/Woman titles. Invitation letters have gone out to non-profits across the community, and completed nomination forms must be returned by February 13.
This year's winners will be annouced on Friday, May 3 at the Man & Woman of the Year Banquet at the Hyatt Regency in Valencia, when all nominees and their nominating organizations will be honored.

Nominations must contain a list of the nominee's community organizations, years of service and positions held. The committee also will consider how the individual's volunteerism has impacted the nominating organization and the community and any other contributions to the community (special personal effort, in-kind or intangible contributions).
Each organization can nominate two volunteers (one man and one woman), and the winners will be selected by a committee comprised of previous Man & Woman of the Year honorees. The criteria are weighted as follows:
- Volunteer effort (sweat equity) – 60 points
- Years of service – 20 points
- Number of 501(c)(3) organizations this individual has served – 10 points
- Other (in-kind, financial, etc.) – 10 points
Each nomination also should include a brief biography of the nominee in 500 words or less and a high-resolution jpg image or print photograph of the nominee. Nominations can be e-mailed to email@example.com  or mailed to SCV Man & Woman of the Year, P.O. Box 801060, Santa Clarita, CA 91380.
This year's event chairs are Myrna Condie and Tom Dierckman, 2012 SCV Woman and Man of the Year.
